Neighbourhood Network Holiday Fundraising

As a group, we all came together and raised over $9,000 in support of our four sponsor families this year. These families fell on hard times and were in need of essentials, which we gifted them this holiday season. Because of your donations, we were able to provide each family with full sets of essential household and personal items.

Woodland Cultural Centre

In honour of the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, on behalf of our employees, the Powell Group of Companies donated $1,000 to the Woodland Cultural Centre. The Centre’s 'Save the Evidence' campaign helps raise awareness and support for the restoration of the former Mohawk Institute Residential School, and aims to develop the building into an Interpreted Historic Site and Educational Resource. As a site of conscience, the final goal is to create a fully realized interpretive centre that will be the destination for information about the history of residential schools in Canada, the experiences of survivors of the schools, and the impact that the residential school system has had on our communities.
